Toucan Therapy was founded from one occupational therapist’s deep passion for helping children thrive through meaningful, everyday experiences—rooted in connection with the most important people in their lives: their families.
We believe that a child’s relationship with their parent or caregiver is the foundation for learning, growth, and emotional wellbeing. That’s why we focus on working with families, not just children, recognising the powerful role parents play in supporting development.
At Toucan Therapy, our name reflects our belief: “Two can do anything.”
This represents both the special bond between parent and child, and the collaborative partnership between families and therapists. Together, we can build the skills, confidence, and connections children need to flourish.
Every child is unique, and we take the time to truly understand who they are—their interests, strengths, and what makes them shine—so we can create therapy that is meaningful, motivating, and just right for them.
We recognise that parents and caregivers are the true experts on their child, and we deeply value the insight and experience you bring. We welcome every opportunity to collaborate and problem-solve together to support your child’s growth and success.
Play is a child’s primary occupation—and it’s at the heart of how they learn, grow, and make sense of the world. We use play as a powerful tool to connect with children, build their confidence, and support the development of essential skills in a joyful, meaningful way.
Jess holds a Bachelor of Health Sciences and a Master of Occupational Therapy Practice from La Trobe University. She is a warm, energetic, and compassionate therapist who believes that strong connections and play-based learning are key to a child’s development.
